AAMPS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

THE AIM OF THE AAMPS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME IS:
  • To develop a network of young African scientists and researchers

  • To stimulate African based applied research in the field of quality assurance and standardisation of African medicinal plants and plant-based natural products

  • To build up a continent-wide base of young supporters for AAMPS and its purpose and objectives

Research subjects will primarily focus on filling knowledge gaps with regards to plants selected for AAMPS Monographs in terms of their botany, phytochemistry, pharmacology, traditional and modern uses as well as their safety and efficacy.

COLLABORATION

The AAMPS Fellowship Programme is organised in close collaboration with the International Foundation for Science (IFS) www.ifs.se.

IFS operates internationally with the mission to build the scientific capacity of developing countries in sciences related to the sustainable management of biological and water resources.

African universities and research centres working in the field of natural products and phytochemistry will also play a crucial role in supervising the research work undertaken under the AAMPS Fellowship Programme.
